Girls and Women Health Initiative
Wellness with Dignity.
“Medicine can heal one patient at a time. Education and advocacy heal generations.”
While Dr. Noreen Zafar is widely known for her clinical leadership in women’s healthcare, her deepest commitment extends far beyond hospital walls. As the Founder and President of the Girls & Women Health Initiative (GWHI), she leads a nationwide effort to protect the health, dignity, and rights of women who are most often left unheard.
GWHI is a non-profit organization in Pakistan dedicated to improving reproductive and preventive healthcare for girls and women, especially those with limited access to medical services.
At the heart of GWHI lies a simple but powerful belief:
Reproductive health is not a privilege. It is a human right.
Our Mission
Healthy women. Strong families. A better Pakistan.
The mission of GWHI is to ensure that every girl and woman in Pakistan, regardless of income, education, or social background, has access to accurate health information and essential medical care.
We believe that when women are informed, healthy, and respected, entire communities thrive. True national progress is impossible without the wellbeing of women at its core.
A Message from the Founder & President
“I established GWHI after witnessing far too much preventable suffering. I saw women lose their lives—not because treatment didn’t exist, but because information and access did not.
This initiative is my promise to the women of Pakistan: we will educate you, we will advocate for you, and we will stand beside you so you can live with the dignity you deserve.”
— Dr. Noreen Zafar
